THE COURSE OF STUDY:

In the first two semesters of their six or seven semester course of study, all students take a BASIC COURSES in High School Science and Math and Communication English
In addition, all students also take SPECIAL COURSES. These courses have been designed to meet the needs of industries and enable students to face challenges in their personal and professional lives. These courses are spread over 6 or 7 semesters and are in addition to the government requirement for the Diploma course of study.
The theory taught in the classroom is accompanied by extensive hands-on experiences in the workshops / labs, in the Center. In the 4th and 7th semesters sanwich diploma students undertake a specialized in-plant training program that has been developed specifically for each of the three technical fields. During their training they apply the theory they learn at CPAT-TVS to the real time situations they encounter in the workplace. This enhances their employability and value in the market place.
The CPAT Polytechnic program offers both regular and sandwich courses. The Polytechnic program in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is for three years comprising six semesters. The sandwich program in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering is 3 ½ years comprising seven semesters. Each semester consists of 6 months.

A COMPREHENSIVE COURSE OF STUDY:

The course of study in the first 2 semesters of the program imparts basic training at the Centre, covering the chosen technical field. The curriculum in all the three fields seamlessly combines theory in the classroom with extensive hands-on experience in the workshops and laboratories, in the Center. In the 4th and 7th semesters of the sandwich diploma programs the students undergo hands-on training at participating industries where they apply theory and practical training learned at CPAT to real time industrial situations.

CERTIFICATION:

At the end of the training period, successful students are awarded a Diploma in Electrical-Electronics, Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering by Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. CPAT certification with grades is awarded for the successful completion of additional theoretical and practical courses which is widely recognized by the industries.
